I'm Rebecca and here is my story...

I’m Rebecca Sluss, a portrait, wildlife, and landscape photographer based in Johnson City, Tennessee. My photography is rooted in my faith and my deep appreciation for the beauty God has placed around us. I believe beauty is always present; sometimes, we simply need to slow down long enough to see it.

My love for photography began when I was young. I remember carrying a Polaroid camera and photographing my grandparents because I wanted to hold onto moments I never wanted to forget. Those photographs became treasured memories, and that early love for preserving meaningful moments eventually grew into something much more.

Photography began as a hobby for me. I would take my camera along on road trips, photograph landscapes, and capture the things that caught my eye. Over time, I realized photography was more than something I enjoyed. It became a way for me to preserve memories, tell stories, and share the way I see the world.

As a self-taught photographer, I’ve learned through experience, mistakes, and simply getting out and taking photographs. My style varies depending on what I’m photographing. Rather than following one specific editing style, I let each image speak to me and edit it based on how I feel the photograph should look.

Whether I’m photographing a family laughing together, a couple in love, a quiet landscape, or an animal moving naturally through its surroundings, I strive to capture more than what is simply seen. I want my images to preserve a feeling, an atmosphere, and a story.

My husband has been one of my greatest sources of support and encouragement. He motivates me to step outside my comfort zone, get out with my camera, and share what I see through my eyes. His belief in me has encouraged me to continue growing and pursuing the photography I love.

For me, photography isn't just about taking pictures. It is about preserving memories, telling stories, and capturing the moments we sometimes don't realize are the ones we'll treasure most.

I hope my photographs encourage others to slow down, take a breath, and look clo
